London Zombie Walk

London Zombie Walk Halloween isn't just for the kids and the ever growing popularity of the London Zombie Walk illustrates. The London zombie walk happens in October when groups of adults dressed in old, worn out clothes, deathly grey make-up, sunken looking eyes, and messy hair go on a pub crawl around London.

Zombies are persons who have 'died' but are not really dead, they are alive in a state of being, referred to as the undead. Zombies are common in Haitian stories and folklore. Researchers studying Haitian culture have related countless tales of bodies brought back to life by Bokor, or sorcerers.

If you intend to join the London Zombie walk it is essential that you look the part and dressing up as a Zombie and exploring disgusting and gruesome undead leering characters, with rotting flesh and a taste for humans is a must. However, dressing up as a Zombie shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg.

Use green, purple or blue eye shadows mixed with talc for your Zombie Makeup to give yourself a haunted sunken facial look. Add some yellow or green to emphasize that you are actually decaying, or your wounds are oozing with pus. As some body parts of the zombies are in their worst form of tear, you can perhaps paint some white shade on your head to simulate a skull that has already been exposed.

Latex can be uses to simulate Zombie Wounds. Latex can be applied to kitchen paper with a brush or a sponge on larger areas to create wounds. The kitchen paper can be wrinkled up to look like wrinkled skin or peeling skin or to build up structures or wound edges, much like you would work with paper mache. Latex shrinks as it dries, and the more fibrous material in it, the more it shrinks.

Choose over-sized clothing that can be torn and tattered. You may want to make your zombie costume more unique by choosing a specific zombie persona such as a nun, a cheerleader or a grave digger. Rip the clothes to make them as tattered as possible. Remove sleeves, and undo hems, making sure all edges look torn and frayed, not neatly cut, then rub them in the dirt. Your fresh from the grave clothes will make a great addition to the league of the living dead.

Add in some leaves and twigs to your costume to give you that 'just dug up' look. Additional items and props can also give your costume real zombie appeal. Hillbilly teeth are unattractive and can double as rotten teeth.

Zombie costumes can be as simple or as complicated as you like to make them. Halloween contact lenses (also commonly known as "special effects contact lenses" or "decorative lenses") can really finish off your Zombiefyed look.
