Paper witches are really easy and quick to make. They will either stand alone, or you can add a thread and suspend them from things. Kids love to make paper witches, and they don't take long so you soon have a house full.
To make a paper witch you will need...
Paints or colouring pencils, scissors, glue and a print out of the witch. Click Here to print a witch.
Print out the the witch template and measure about 5cm from the 'Hat Tip' point down the main body. This is the point that the hat brim will sit. Below this point draw the witch a face, with scary eyes and a crooked nose. You could also draw a cat sitting beside her. Don't forget a toad sitting on her hat and a couple of spiders creeping about her. You could even draw her spell book under her arm.
Cut out the witch parts. Fold the 'Glue Tab' back. Put some glue on the Glue tab and curl the witch's body around so that the straight edge of the body sticks onto the glue tab. Hold in place whilst the glue dries. Then push the hat brim down over the top of the cone to complete the witch's hat.
If you want to hang the witch up, you need to make a hanging loop. Use a needle and threat and push the needle through the top of the witch's hat. Tie the thread ends together to form a loop.
To make a broom for your witch to fly on...
Roll up a piece of brown coloured paper (sized 14cm long by 5cm wide), roll it quite tightly and glue down the edge to hold it all in place. When the glue has dried, snip at one end of the 'broom' and splay the strips of paper out to create bristles.
Using a hole punch, make one hole at the front of the witch's skirt and one at the back and feed the broom handle through the two holes. Add a dab of glue to hole the broom in place.
If you don't want to make a flying witch, glue the broom beside the witch as if she is holding it.
You can also use the print out to make wizards.
