Ghost Hunt Halloween Party Game

Difficulty Rating -

Spooky Ghost Hunt Party Game Fancy a ghost hunt in your house? Organise a fright night, Ghost Hunt for your Halloween party. If you don't already have a haunted house, you will need to make some ghostly apparitions and some spooky spirits for your party guests to hunt.

To make Tissue or Napkin Ghosts for the ghost hunt you will need...
An egg cup, a potato, a few cocktail sticks, Clingfilm, white paper napkins, PVA glue and a black felt tip pen.

You need to make a model or mould first, you do this by sticking a few cocktail sticks into the potato to look like arms, sit the potato in the egg cup and wrap the whole thing up in Clingfilm. This stops the ghost from sticking to it all later. You could use a Barbie doll standing in a glass, but ask before using someone else's doll and make sure you wrap it up well in Clingfilm so it doesn't get spoilt. Stand you finished model on a sheet of Clingfilm to protect the surface and to avoid the ghost from sticking.

Mix up about a tablespoon of PVA glue with a tablespoon of water. Then soak an opened paper napkin in the mixture. You need to make sure it all gets wet, whilst trying to keep the napkin, napkin like.

Then drape the napkin over the model that was prepared earlier. To avoid tearing, lift the napkin and push it down the arms a little. Let the napkin hang down and on the surface a slightly, this will ensure that the ghost can stand when it's dry. If there is too much overhang, find something to stand the model on. An old box perhaps?

Leave the ghost to dry over night.

Draw on a spooky face with black paint or a felt tip pen and carefully remove the ghost from the model. Be very careful not to rip or crush the ghost.

When you have made as many Ghosts as you have guests you need to hide the ghosts around the house or garden. Remember that usually ghosts are shy and won't be in obvious places.

Simply let the children find the ghosts. Make the atmosphere extra spooky buy turning out the lights and giving each child a small torch.

If you have older children you could write clues to hide inside each ghost telling them where the next clue is. For example –

'When spooks get scared they also get smelly,
The next clue is behind the T _ _ _ _.'

The children follow the clues to find a prize at the end, a bowl of sweets maybe?
