Spooky balloon bats are quick and easy to make. You can either make your balloon bat cute and cheeky, or scary with evil eyes and blood stained fangs. They really do funk up an otherwise dull balloon. Great for making the house spooky – inside or out.

To make a balloon bat you will need...
A black balloon, thin black card, white paper, double-sided sticky tape, and a free print out of the bat shapes – if you can print it straight onto card so that it forms a suitable stencil.

Cut out the balloon bat pieces from the print out. Use these parts as stencils.

For each bat, draw out two wings and two ears on to black card and cut them out.

Fold all the tabs along the dashes. Fold them alternately forwards and back.

Put double sided sticky on each tab.

Blow up the black balloon and tie a knot in the end. With the knot at the top attach the wings and ears.

Cut out some eyes, and stick them on to the bats face with double-sided sticky tape. Do the same with the fangs if your bat is having fangs.

Tie some wool of thread around the knot at the top of the balloon and hang the bat up.
